Dr. Plante’s education has always been focused on caring for others and helping them reach their health and peak-performance goals, no matter where her patients are starting from. Nutrition, being active, and goal setting were the cornerstones of her practice during a decade working in chiropractic.
After her family moved from Florida to Georgia, she was in a car accident that changed her life. She became severely ill and struggled to find a doctor who could help. Her injury was later compounded by a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Eventually, she knew she needed to find answers for herself, so she pursued further training and became a Functional Medicine Practitioner through Functional Medicine University. Functional nutrition became the approach Dr. Plante needed to regain her health.
Just as she was ready to return to work, her oldest child became critically ill, and, again, no one could find a diagnosis. A combination of functional nutrition, chiropractic care, and a specialized exercise regimen restored her daughter’s health and allowed her to return to collegiate volleyball.
These life challenges deepened Dr. Plante’s passion for what healthcare should look like. She continues to help patients using functional nutrition and comprehensive body analysis to identify cellular-level issues, targeted exercise, and mindfulness—and most importantly, by standing alongside patients as they navigate their path to health.
When Dr. Plante isn’t at the office, you’ll probably find her at a sporting event: watching her daughter Bria coach volleyball at Moravian University (Go Hounds!), cheering for her son Gunnar at baseball games (Go West Georgia Wolves!), or supporting her husband Ricky as he coaches baseball and softball at North Atlanta High School.
